ABOUT NANCY GWYNNE-Vaughan

Nancy Gwynne-Vaughan, President and founder of Graham Consulting & Training Inc., was born into the legal profession. Her father was the managing partner at a small Toronto law firm where she spent many summers and school holidays employed in various capacities.  After attending the University of Toronto she elected to work as a law clerk for a sole practitioner lawyer where she remained for 22 years while she raised her family.  As a law clerk in a general practice Nancy gained experience in numerous areas of law including wills and estates, real estate, family, criminal, labour and civil litigation.  She assisted counsel at trial in all levels of court including appellate levels with an attendance at the Supreme Court of Canada and was appointed to the Advisory Committee for the Law Clerk's program at Humber College.

Nancy briefly considered attending law school but ultimately recognized that her primary interest lay in business and law office management.  During her tenure as a law clerk she gradually undertook more and more of the financial record keeping, compliance and practice management functions.  In 1996 with the encouragement of her principal she registered Graham Business Services and began venturing into other firms in addition to her full-time work.  In 2003 she left her employment to pursue her business full time, eventually incorporating and continuing that business under the name of Graham Consulting & Training Inc.

Given her many years working with the legal profession Nancy has extensive insight into the challenges faced by small law firms and solo practitioners and she possesses the ability to approach law office management and financial record keeping from the point of view of both the legal and the financial professional.  Over the years she has worked with over 40 firms and participated in dozens of Law Society spot audits.  She continues to receive regular referrals from members of both the legal and accounting professions.
